Collection: selective story collections

Aunties is peak style, but more than an aesthetic. If you didn't have her picture hanging in your bedroom, Peggy Oki was the gritty style queen and pioneer of women's skateboarding in the 1970s. She was the only female member of the Z-Boys. In 1975 she took first in Women's Freestyle at the Del Mar Nationals skateboarding competition, grew tired of the politics and wait time of competing, and left the scene. She went on to pursue Environmental Biology, completing her degree in fine arts with an environmental emphasis. For over twenty years she has been blending art and advocacy to bring public (especially kids'!) awareness and put pressure on world governments to improve conditions for cetaceans both in the wild and captivity. She continues to surf and skate with flow.   

Cetaceans.org is a place to learn about cetaceans and some of the issues they face in a world ever-threatened by human encroachment and impact. It's a place to marvel and wonder about our fellow mammals, once land dwellers who evolved into a life in the sea. It's a place for free art resources for kids, and to join others in collective efforts in advocacy.  20% of all sales from this collection will go to Cetaceans.org
